Before coming out onto the World Race I had high hopes of seeing miracles take place. I wanted to see a blind person receive their sight as we prayed over them. I wanted to see limbs grow back and I wanted to see people walk out of their wheelchairs. Sometimes it may not look like that however. Miracles can look differently. Healings can look differently. I ended up getting to experience this recently with one of my teammates. My teammate for as long as he can remember has suffered with insomnia and has been taking insomnia pills to help him sleep.

With constant confirmation from the Lord however he ended up getting rid of those pills. One of our squadmates started praying over him for his insomnia to go away, and he had been wrestling with throwing the pills away. He told me he had the thought of him throwing the pills away that day. I laughed when he told me this information because I had seen an image of him throwing his pills away like a month prior to him telling me this. I told him this and soon after he gathered his year supply of insomnia medication that he brought with him for being out on the field for a year and threw it in the trash. The night after throwing them away (as we had ministry very early the next morning and he threw the pills away at midnight) he had the best sleep of his life. He was healed. He got full rest and even though he woke up in the middle of the night twice, he was still able to fall back asleep. Even being able to sleep until 8:30 or 9am. I have asked him a few times since then how he has slept and it has been the same thing. My teammate is healed from insomnia and no longer needs any insomnia pills to be able to sleep. The Lord is so good!!!!!

The Lord has taught me that healing can take place in any aspect. It doesn’t just have to be physical healing. There’s also mental, spiritual and emotional healing that the Lord is able to bring. The Lord has been reteaching me constantly in different areas of my life not to put Him in a box and I kept putting God in a box of primarily healing in the physical. When He heals in any of the four categories; physical, mental, emotional and the spiritual. He far exceeds any of our expectations and is able to work in any manner He is able to and willingly chooses. He’s God after all.

  1. So awesome! Keep seeking Him and going out of your comfort zone to pray for healing, regardless of how crazy it may seem. He will show up.

  2. This is a great lesson for us all. Healing can look different than we expect. So glad for your teammate!
