As many of you know my time in Albania has been more so of learning and growing within my mental and emotional capacity. Romania looked more like growing, learning, teaching and being a witness to others both in the sense of telling others about Jesus while also building relationships with people in Romania and from other countries as well. It also looked more like being a witness and watching my squad grow together and witnessing/watching them reach out and evangelize to others.

I also recently have realized that my time in Albania has been more of learning how to listen and discern the voice of God. To learn how to discern when the Holy Spirit is talking to me. I bring this up because the past few days of prayer walking in Albania I felt like I was to walk certain ways on the prayer walk. One of those days I ended up hearing someone yell down to me from one of the hotels “do you go to GCU?” (Grand Canyon University). I looked up and there was a lady there named Beth who says that she teaches for GCU. I told her I graduated from there after correcting myself when she asked if I went there. The following day I walked out onto the boardwalk of Sarandë and ran into a guy named Kory with an epic beard who’s from California and goes to GCU online. The odds of meeting two different people staying/arriving there at different times with correlations with GCU in another country is very rare.

The following day after I decided to try and listen to the Holy Spirit and let the Lord guide me with where to walk to. As I walked I looked down different roads and based on how my gut felt I decided to walk down that path/road. It was clear where to go to. I looked down one road/path and my gut had a strong feeling to go that way or there was no feeling at all or to not go down an area. I eventually walked passed a gated house onto a street in which I decided to continue to listen to the Lord to find my way back to where I was staying at.

A day or two after I went to church with one of my teammates Claran (a very wise and strong woman of God who is clearly going to be used by God in mighty ways) as I felt I was supposed to go to church on Sunday. We ended up meeting the pastor and his wife in which Claran got their contact information to talk with them. We soon ended up meeting up with the wife to talk and build relationship with them. We got picked up to talk with them and sure enough the street that I ended up walking to where I decided to listen and follow the Lord on where to go and how to get back to my temporary home is the same street in which they live on.

  1. Beautiful! Way to press in with listening to His leading! Nothing beats it. Thanks for the updates!

  2. This is great Michael! It feels so good to know that you have truly heard the voice of the Lord and that you can discern His voice. Do you believe in coincidence? I don’t. I think the Lord directs our steps even when we don’t know it or recognize it.
