L and M, these are the two squads that spent a little over a week together helping Hope Church Craiova with refugees and with locals. It was a sweet moment, especially when L Squad started calling me Mikey all the time. This is because I initially was going to go on L Squad and told my cohort they could call me Mikey. I had to switch to another route pretty close to training camp in July (2021) before leaving the states because I was the only guy on L Squad. To be honest I actually forgot I told L Squad they could call me Mikey until it was said in person around my squad (M Squad). It was hilarious to see everyone from my squad on M Squad look so confused that all of L Squad was calling me Mikey. It was sweet to be able to hang out and do ministry together with the squad I initially would have been on if there were other guys who joined.
There was some great times during this week and a half of doing ministry together. From learning what they have been doing in regards to ministry specifically for refugees and stepping into the ministry after them to being able to lose in basketball against a few of them while others from both L & M Squad played soccer against Romanians and Ukrainians. It was great to be able to learn more from some of the people I would have been on a squad with. Can’t wait to see them again at final debrief in Georgia the state.
That’s pretty awesome! Glad you got to do some ministry with them.
So cool Michael! Sounds like you have been the MAN! So social too. Glad you have had some other wonderful people to hang with and to do ministry. Also glad that you took the opportunity to learn from others! Always good!
