Throughout my time on the World Race so far I’ve witnessed the power of prayer. Not just in ways I’ve seen before but also in ways I haven’t. Not only that but I witnessed seeing the presence of God. I witnessed a thick fog settling over Restelicë on our first night of praying there. It lasted throughout the night when we started praising the Lord and lasted until about 12pm the next day. The fog was so thick you couldn’t see the Mosque that was just down the street. We were also already there for a day or two before the fog rested on the village to learn the culture and respect the culture we were in to minister to people effectively. As time got closer to leaving Restelicë there was soon a fire on the mountains coming towards the village.

It didn’t look controlled based on watching it quickly grow larger pretty quickly, it being so close to the village and watching cars leave the mountainside that typically doesn’t have any vehicles driving at night. Also the fact that my team went to another town the day before while I stayed back and they saw the fire on the mountains on the way back to Restelicë. So I quickly messaged some friends, a few of the people I knew to be prayer warriors back in the states. Asking them to pray for the fire to go out. Before we went to bed the fire was quickly out. When we woke up the next day it didn’t even look like a fire even happened, though we saw it pretty close to the houses and get larger within a minute or two and have seen the mountain view from where we were staying at everyday from our window and a small balcony in the attic of the place we were staying at (which was really a family’s home. It was more like two guest rooms for their family that comes. In the hall was a tiny door connecting to one of the family members rooms).

I’ve also witnessed the power of prayer in a practical way. All of us here have been asking and wanting to grow deeper and closer with God and be used by God to do His will. Here are a couple of examples. One of the teams within my squad got to be on national news in Kosovo being able to tell people why we’re in Kosovo. One team got to experience what may be a plot from a movie scene if one didn’t actually experience it. They did ministry up in the mountains in a place where it was literally divided. Albanians on one side of the country divided by flowing water with Serbians on the other side of that. Serbians and Albanians tend to not get a long here. Which is why there’s conflict between Serbia and Kosovo. A good portion of people here are Albanian and a good portion here are Serbian.
